Ramapo HS Women in Business Club Visits NYC

We're excited to share highlights from an incredible trip the Ramapo High School Women in Business Club took to New York City on Thursday, June 12th. The club, which was founded just a few years ago, has quickly grown to over 100 members and continues to thrive under the leadership of Grace Gilbert, Grace Saxton, Maddie Saxton, Emily McCarthy, and Lucy Raff. With a focus on developing both soft and hard skills essential to success in the business world, the club empowers young women to pursue their aspirations with confidence and purpose.

Ten students were selected to attend this enriching field trip through an application process that required a letter of intent. The experience was organized by the club's executive council and their advisor, Cynthia Vander Molen.

Behind-the-Scenes Access to Financial Institutions

The day began with a luncheon hosted by Brian Saxton, CEO of Saiph Capital, along with other company representatives. This kickoff allowed students to learn more about the business landscape in the financial capital of the world and set the tone for an inspiring day. Following lunch, the group visited the Bank of New York for a Q&A session with interns and young executives. One of the highlights was a behind-the-scenes tour of the bank's cyber security command center, where the students gained a firsthand look at how financial institutions combat cyber threatsβ€”a rare and unforgettable experience.

Wall Street Experience

The day concluded with a visit to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. There, students were able to receive a tour from Saiph Capital executive and former stock exchange trader, Rob Canzani, to witness the energy of the trading floor, interact with professionals in real-time, and even be present for the ringing of the closing bell.

It was a powerful day of learning, networking, and inspiration. We're deeply grateful to Saiph Capital for making this unforgettable experience possible for the Women in Business Club. Opportunities like this reinforce our mission to prepare and empower the next generation of female leaders in business.
